L-Bank is the development institute of the state of Baden-Württemberg and a German credit institution under public law with headquarters in Karlsruhe and a branch office in Stuttgart.
L-Bank uses a central data storage system in terms of a ‘single source of truth’, which takes into account different supplier and customer systems and consolidates, integrates, aggregates and prepares the data for further processing.
adesso was commissioned by L-Bank to evaluate its current BI situation, reveal optimisation potential and develop a BI strategy as a frame of orientation and guideline for BI measures over the next few years.
In order to develop a BI strategy, adesso first analysed the current situation. In doing so, professional, technical and organisational issues were reviewed. The analysis results were then evaluated on the basis of a BI maturity model and a BI concept including strategic goals was derived. This formed the basis for specific action recommendations for implementation within the framework of a BI roadmap.
As a result, strategic measures for immediate implementation as well as recommendations for future projects – for example, for optimising data management, a uniform definition of responsibilities, roles and processes or regulating the use of tools and technologies – were identified and formulated.
L-Bank now has a concrete strategic orientation for its BI measures for the next few years and can launch different project initiatives on the basis of these recommendations for action.
